Announced SACK Date: Erik ten Hag poses a risk Man United collapses as four worrying indicators imply that their days may be numbered
Just as Manchester United are getting ready for a crucial stretch of games, rumour has it that Erik ten Hag may be dealing with yet another issue.
Manchester United’s persistent problems
Following Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure from Old Trafford in 2013, United fans have likely grown weary of the same old pattern: the team will typically do very well in the first year or two under a new manager before problems start to show.
Premier League clubs had little choice but to replace managers after each of David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and now Ten Hag had at least some success during their respective tenures.
Surprisingly, when Ten Hag was just starting out as Manchester United manager, he claimed that “an era can come to an end” in reference to Liverpool and Manchester City’s unbroken reign over English football. During his first season as manager, the Dutchman seemed to be living up to expectations, as his team won the EFL Cup and finished in the top four.
Unfortunately, United’s lack of consistency on the field this season contributed to their seventh-place Premier League finish, five points lagging behind Aston Villa in fourth. United sit atop their group with just a single match remaining in the Champions League. They were humiliated and had to relinquish the trophy after losing the EFL Cup 3-0 at home to Newcastle United.
More troubling news is on the way for Ten Hag, as additional problems at Old Trafford are reportedly on the horizon.
Updating Erik ten Hag’s status…
It seems like some of the guys are completely confused about what’s happening. Unfortunately, he can’t use all of the dressing room. One source claims that he has cut off about half of the changing room. There is a lot of dissatisfaction among the players regarding the style of play and the amount of time spent jogging and exercising during training. Someone told me that the players don’t know what they’re aiming for.
Also, Erik ten Hag has heard from some seasoned players about where they think the squad can use some work. They felt the manager should be a bit more sentimental after talking about their past experiences playing for major league teams. They have discussed this with him.
Manchester United, under Ten Hag’s leadership, must quickly resolve their issues in order to prepare for a string of matches against Liverpool, Chelsea, Bournemouth, and Bayern Munich.
