The following are reportedly fired by Man United’s new owners after surprising him with a £1.4 billion decision
The Sun claims that Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who will take over as Manchester United’s manager of football operations on Monday, will have the authority to remove David Harrison, Richard Arnold, the club’s CEO, and John Murtough, the director of football operations.
Given that he owns a quarter of the Old Trafford team, the British billionaire and owner of INEOS is anticipated to take the lead in making important football decisions beginning next week.
If Ratcliffe is in charge of a significant change at Manchester United, the three players listed above might lose their jobs.
After Sir Alex Ferguson left the Red Devils in 2013, the owner of OGC Nice is shocked that the team has only won one FA Cup, two League Cups, and a Europa League medal. Since Ferguson left the team in 2013, the team has spent roughly £1.4 billion on players.
Harrison began working in February of this year, and in March 2021, after five years as director of development, Murtough received a promotion to director of football. Ed Woodward led Manchester United as CEO from 2012 to 2022, when Arnold took over.
However, they could all be held accountable for the Red Devils’ recent disappointing seasons now that Ratcliffe is a member of the team.
Director of Sports at INEOS, Sir Dave Brailsford, is expected to support him when he makes important decisions at Man United.
All three players—Paul Pogba (£89 million), Romelu Lukaku (£75 million), and Angel Di Maria (£59.7 million)—were not successful in the end.
The outstanding amounts for Anthony Martial are £44.5 million, Donny van de Beek is £40 million, Jadon Sancho is £73 million, and Antony is £85.5 million.
In addition, manager Erik ten Hag brought in Mason Mount, Rasmus Hojlund, Sofyan Amrabat, and Andre Onana during the most recent summer transfer window.
The Danish international has had an impact in the Premier League despite not having scored yet.
