First January Deal Done – Man Utd reach ‘verbal agreement’ for first January transfer with £12.8m deal pending

Manchester United will start its January transfer window operations and permit Donny van de Beek to leave on loan the following month, based on a verbal agreement.

Due to his lack of playing time under manager Erik ten Hag, the Dutch midfielder is anticipated to temporarily leave Old Trafford.

According to Fabrizio Romano, United and Bundesliga team Eintracht Frankfurt have reached a verbal agreement for Van van Beek to play the remainder of the season in Germany.

Frankfurt will have the opportunity to extend Van de Beek’s loan for a reported £12.8 million, exclusive of add-ons, at the end of the term.

In addition, Frankfurt will pay United’s loan fee back.

At Ajax, Van van Beek made an impression under Ten Hag and carried a lot of promise into United.

However, he has failed to live up to the expectations placed on him, and his status with the team has not improved even after he reunited with his former manager.

His summer loan move to Lorient was canceled, and he missed the majority of the 2022–2023 season because of a knee injury he suffered earlier in the year.

Despite his limited playing time, Van van Beek remains optimistic about his career. Having played just two substitute games this season for a combined 21 minutes, the 26-year-old is aching for more playing time.

In addition to expressing his excitement for a new beginning, he emphasized the need of having fun and being ambitious in his work, demonstrating his desire to significantly impact the field.
