Star completes medical with Manchester United To replace Jadon Sancho, United is “willing” to pay the £48 million clause and recruit a winger who will cost $100 million.

In the next hours, Manuel Ugarte, who is en route to England to join Manchester United, will finalise his transfer.

This is what ESPN Uruguay claims.

Assuming the legalities are successfully completed, the protracted discussions for the 23-year-old have finally come to a positive conclusion.

According to sources who spoke with ESPN, Manuel Ugarte is indeed joining Manchester United after leaving Paris Saint-Germain.

“In the coming hours, the 23-year-old Uruguayan will fly to England to join the Red Devils.”

After Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Joshua Zirkzee, and Noussair Mazraoui, Ugarte will be United’s fifth summer signing.

Casemiro will have cover from the Uruguayan in defensive midfield.

ESPN has not yet made public Ugarte’s entire transfer price. United feels that PSG’s demand of more than €60 million is excessive, particularly considering that the player is no longer in head coach Luis Enrique’s plans.

The negotiation of a loan agreement with mandatory purchase to get past United’s convoluted play with Profit and Sustainability (PSR) limitations seems to be a contributing factor in the negotiating delay.

On the other hand, it is believed that the impending sales of Hannibal Mejbri to Burnley and Scott McTominay to Napoli have freed up funds, making a straight acquisition feasible.

Although Ugarte hasn’t played much since the Copa America, the trade should be finished in time for him to play against Liverpool on Sunday. Still, it’s unlikely that he will start.
