Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw are out with injuries right now, so Manchester United may have been given the ideal opportunity to recruit a new left-back.

Ben Chilwell has reportedly received an offer from Manchester United after learning that Enzo Maresca does not have him in his plans for Chelsea this season.

Chilwell is presently training away from Chelsea’s first team after a difficult few years at Stamford Bridge due to injuries. This implies that Raheem Sterling, who is likewise not in Maresca’s plans, and the 27-year-old have comparable circumstances in west London.

The Italian stated on Wednesday, “They are training apart,” in reference to Sterling and Chilwell. As previously stated, the situation is very clear, and there has been no development.

“They play for Chelsea. Until they start playing for Chelsea. However, you might give them each a minute. It would be best for those who desire minutes to depart.

With little over a week remaining in the summer transfer window, Chillwell faces an unclear future. TalkSPORT now claims that United has been offered the chance to buy him. Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw are both out with injuries, which causes problems for United at left back.

However, a new hire Erik ten Hag’s worries about Noussar Mazraoui’s play at left-back on Friday were allayed by his impressive display of play against Fulham. Following the September international break, Shaw is also scheduled to return.

Although Chilwell still has two years left on his Chelsea contract, it wouldn’t make sense for United to invest in a new player at his position given his history of injuries. Similar to what the Reds did when they signed Sergio Regullion in the summer of last year and he returned to Tottenham in January, a loan deal would be alluring.

But before the transfer window closes, United will be focussing on completing a deal for midfielder Manuel Ugarte of Paris Saint-Germain. They may also be more eager to let go of a few players. Scott McTominay and Jadon Sancho are both possible sales before the August 30 deadline of 11 p.m.

Naturally, Chilwell is a valuable asset to any Premier League squad when fully healthy, which is why Maresca finds Marc Cucurella’s preference so puzzling. However, there’s a good reason why Chilwell’s position is better suited for a defender who makes mistakes. United would be taking a chance by ignoring this warning flag.
