Sad News: the owner of Totteham confirmed died, and his funeral is today
With James Maddison out with an injury, Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has been told to start Rodrigo Bentancur.
Bentancur would give Tottenham’s midfield more imagination, according to ESPN FC Podcast host Craig Burley.
After an extended absence due to an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in February, the Uruguayan has just made a triumphant return.
Despite making three substitute appearances in the past week, Bentancur has not started a game for the new manager, Ange Postecoglou.
After suffering consecutive league losses to Wolves and Chelsea, Tottenham had a rough six days last week. As Postecoglou attempts to lead the team through a challenging time, however, the outcomes will not be his primary concern.
It appears that James Maddison and Micky van de Ven will not be able to return to the team until the new year after being substituted in the loss to Chelsea.
Both Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie were sent off against Chelsea, meaning they were unable to play in the loss at Wolves.
With Pape Matar Sarr, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and Yves Bissouma starting in midfield for Spurs against Wolves, Postecoglou’s lineup lacked the team’s trademark inventiveness.
In addition, Craig Burley thinks Bentancur needs to start so the team can have a greater danger in the final third.

Now that Madison is hurt, Postecoglou is instructed to start Bentancur.
When asked about Bentancur replacing Madison on ESPN FC, Burley argued that he should.
“If you’re seeking a little more imagination, I’d say Bentancur is the way to go,” the commentator remarked. Since he hasn’t played in a while, it could have been a fitness issue. That London Derby did give him a few minutes on the field.
Postecoglou himself had said that they were too conservative with their possessions, he continued. He found it unpleasant. His thoughts on Madison were probed. “Listen, we’re missing him,” he stated.
“Maybe he should examine his team’s composition and how he can incorporate other players into the game to compensate for Maddison’s absence.”

Before suffering an injury last year, Bentancur proved he could be a danger for Spurs in the final third of the field and even scored a couple goals.
The midfielder was a standout for Antonio Conte’s side before joining Spurs for £19 million in January 2021.
The 26-year-old has been out for a long time, so Postecoglou will be hesitant to put him back in too soon.
While Bentancur does have a lot of great skills, he isn’t exactly known for his ability to split defenses.
We think Giovani Lo Celso would be a great fit to replace Maddison, and the Uruguayan international would be better suited to play the box-to-box role for Postecoglou’s squad.
