BREAKING – Liverpool man reveals WHY he wishes Everton will be handed another points deduction that will send the club into the relegation zone and potentially to the Championship

Despite the fact that the original penalty was lowered on appeal, Jamie Carragher believes he will subtract an additional “one or two” points from Everton’s score. Due to suspected violations of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations, the Toffees were awarded 10 points in November; however, as of last week, they were only awarded six points.

Since Sean Dyche’s team is currently five points above the relegation zone, the news of Everton’s successful appeal has significantly increased their chances of remaining in the English Premier League. Carragher did, however, imply that Everton might be added back into the match if there was an additional point deduction for a different charge.

“In that case, Everton would have to be sent off,” Carragher stated in an interview with Sky Bet’s Stick to Football podcast. The Nottingham Forest situation dates from this season, while the Everton sanction dates from the previous one. The issue with Everton, though, is that the new sanction includes two [from the previous two years] out of the three-year period.

They are asserting that since two of these charges are already part of the three-year sanction, “we cannot be sanctioned again for an additional six points after we have already been sanctioned for these two years.” I predict Nottingham Forest will likely win six [points], and Everton will likely receive one or two.

Everton’s initial deduction was a fine for violating sustainability and profit guidelines during the three years leading up to 2021/22. An investigation into additional purported breaches in the 2022–2023 accounts has been started since then. The Toffees are awaiting word on whether they will face punishment once more with bated breath.

Additionally, Forest will soon be losing points because they were also accused of misconduct during the same time period. The case must be heard by April 8th, and any appeal could push back the hearing date until May 24th, one week after the Premier League season ends.

Due to the Premier League’s precedent of punishing Everton, Gary Neville continued, Forest will not receive more than six points. “If every team is awarded six points for breaking these rules, teams will know what they are going to get,” he said.

“[The] first requirement is that they must complete it within a season; this means that they must spend £105 million over three years, and your losses must be restricted to a single season. That is what they must do. Many of these problems will be resolved because you won’t be measuring after three years.
