“I’ll rather watch him playing than watching Messi” – Jermain Defoe says he would actually rather watch £45m Chelsea man play than Lionel
Jermain Defoe states that he would actually prefer to watch the £45 million Chelsea player play than Lionel Messi.
According to Jermain Defoe, there is a player at Chelsea that he would pay to watch more than any other at the moment.
He admitted to preferring to watch Cole Palmer play right now over players like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo on BBC Sport’s “The Players Channel.”
Palmer is currently the best Chelsea player this season in his first year as a regular in the Premier League.
He is still a vital component of the team’s attack and has already scored more than ten goals.
Troy Deeney questioned Defoe about his favorite players to watch at the moment.
“In today’s game, who would you pay to watch?” he asked.
Defoe answered, “At this moment? Cole Palmer.
Defoe gives Cole Palmer acclaim
Deeney continued, clearly thinking highly of the 21-year-old, but then asked, “Cole Palmer? What a crazy first name to give someone, bro! By the way, I believe he’s ill. Messi, Ronaldo, Haaland, and Cole Palmer were your options.

“I’ve seen it, I’ve seen it,” declared Defoe. You know what I’m thinking? I want to go watch someone who can be anything they want to be for the next ten, fifteen, or twenty years.
“I want to watch someone who is young and exciting going forward.”
Palmer will most likely be the first player listed on the roster when the Blues play Liverpool in the EFL Cup final at Wembley this coming weekend.
Everything seemed to pass through him even though he didn’t score or provide an assist against his old team, Manchester City, the last time out. Many saw that they drastically decreased when Mauricio Pochettino decided to replace him.
The more important question will probably be who plays in attack with him; Nicolas Jackson, in particular, will be pleading with the manager to start him following a superb showing against City on Saturday.
