Following reports that Barcelona had received an offer, Liverpool’s search for a new manager has become more challenging. This summer, there are other teams in the hunt besides the Reds.

Thomas Tuchel has reportedly offered Barcelona his services, according to Mundo Deportivo. With Xavi announcing his retirement at the end of the season, the Catalonians will require a new manager for the 2024–2025 campaign.

Tuchel is still in charge of Bayern Munich at this time. This suggests that he is aware that his time in Bavaria is probably coming to an end and that Bayern could miss out on the Bundesliga title for the first time since 2012.

Tuchel wishes to be proactive as a result. He knows that Barcelona is one of his fans, and he wants to take the risk since it might be advantageous to everyone.

However, Liverpool might view it as a complicating factor.

Without a doubt, they want Xabi Alonso to be their new boss. Alonso is the head coach of Bayer Leverkusen, the team that appears to be challenging Bayern’s hegemony in the Bundesliga.

Naturally, Alonso was once a member of Liverpool’s team. It is reported that he has a verbal agreement with Leverkusen to depart in the summer and join one of his previous teams. But Bayern is another team he played for in the past.

It seems like Tuchel is actively trying to leave, so if he does, Alonso will probably be at the top of Bayern’s list of replacements. They would also benefit from Liverpool’s “advantage,” since Real Madrid is one of the three teams the Spaniard hopes to manage.

There is still plenty of time for this to change. According to reports, Alonso won’t speak with other teams until the end of the season, and the Reds won’t name a new manager until they have a sporting director.
