Following a surprise loan move from RB Leipzig to Tottenham, Timo Werner says he is eager to work under Ange Postecoglou.

On Tuesday night, the north Londoners declared the arrival of their new striker and verified that the agreement included a buy option with an estimated value of €17 million (£14.6 million).

After two reckless seasons at Chelsea, Werner has found it difficult to rekindle his career in Leipzig. In the first half of the Bundesliga season, he made just two starts.

However, he feels his versatility will be a huge asset and says he was blown away by the talks with Postecoglou. He is confident he can make a big impact back in the Premier League.

To begin with, I’m thrilled to be here. Werner stated on the official club website. I believe I have become a member of a very large club. I thought the conversation with the manager was excellent.

He instantly gave me the impression that I should join a club and that’s what I want to experience when I speak with a manager.

“I felt right away that it fitted perfectly, especially the tactics and style, how he wants to play, and how he lets the team play.”

He went on, “I loved the new stadium right away; it was something really, really special to play at.” Playing against Spurs was always an incredible experience, and I’m now proud to be a member of both the team and the club.

Being the home team’s scorer and having the entire stadium cheer you on should make the moment even more memorable. genuinely excited about it.

“I’m hoping to play as well as I can here.” I think it makes it even harder for the other teams to defend if they never know who is coming in the positions. I can play every position up front, which is always good to have players who can play different positions and change also during the game.

“I believe that my ability to be adaptable up front and play every position is one of my strengths.”

“When I left the Premier League, straight away I missed something because it’s the best league in the world,” he continued, speaking of his return to English football. I love England, and I’ve really settled in here, but I missed London too.

It’s a great city and a great place to be, so when I left, I really missed it. Here in north London, we’re all excited to begin a new journey and to be back.

“My goal is to compete for titles and to win another game in this league.” I also declared that I wanted to be a winner and win titles when I joined my former team, Chelsea, and in the end we took home the Champions League!

Therefore, I don’t think it’s inappropriate to state that I also come here to win things and titles.
