Trent Alexander-Arnold suffers knee ligament tear in huge Liverpool injury blow
After suffering a knee injury during Liverpool’s 2-0 FA Cup victory over Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday, Trent Alexander-Arnold will need time in the treatment area.
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s knee injury has dealt a blow to Liverpool on the eve of their Carabao Cup semi-final.
The full-back won’t be available for the Reds’ Wednesday night match at Anfield against Fulham. Although the Liverpool medical staff is still assessing the full extent of the injury, he will undoubtedly miss up to three weeks of football and the cup match.
On January 20, Jurgen Klopp’s team travels to Bournemouth in the Premier League. Four days later, at Craven Cottage, they play the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final. After that, they play Norwich or Bristol Rovers in the FA Cup fourth round. At the end of the month, they will play Chelsea on Merseyside in the Premier League.
Trent hyperextended his knee during the most recent game, which is not good news, according to Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders, who made the announcement at a press conference on Tuesday. He will therefore need time to heal from a small tear in his knee’s lateral ligament. After his scan, which will keep him out of commission for several weeks, we’ll see.
“After getting some rest, he should be able to return to his previous state. Because he consistently produced for us from deep and offered the team a great degree of flexibility, this guy was decisive in every game. He will be greatly missed.
