Amadou Onana has already made transfer admission amid 'intensive' Arsenal talks

In the midst of ongoing negotiations with Arsenal, Everton midfielder Amadou Onana is optimistic that he could advance to a traditional “big six” club.

Since joining the Toffees in 2022 after leaving Lille, the central player has been establishing a solid reputation for himself in the Premier League. Onana was rumored to be joining Manchester United in the summer, but the transfer never happened.

He hasn’t let this little setback stop him, though. The 22-year-old has established himself as one of Everton’s main players under Sean Dyche, making 21 appearances and tallying two goals.

Soccer.London is aware that the Gunners are interested in this form. We are aware that the North London club is investigating the prospect of bringing Onana to the nation’s capital, and there have been rumors of “intensive” talks.

The Merseyside team reportedly wants to give the Belgian, whose contract expires in 2027, £50 million so he can leave this winter. Arsenal hopes that Everton’s current financial circumstances will give them some leeway when it comes to that amount.

Onana is unconcerned about the pressure that might build up on his shoulders if he decides to move to the Emirates. After the United links, he told Transfermarkt in November of last year, “I genuinely believe that there are no boundaries for me.”

“I don’t mean to come across as conceited. However, I am confident in my skills and know that I can join a prestigious club and contribute regularly.”

There is no certainty as to where he would play if he were to move to Arsenal. Onana dropping into defensive midfield to allow Declan Rice to advance further forward is one working theory.
