The formation being referred to is the 4-2-3-1 formation. The expected starting XI for the Brighton versus Man United match includes Zirkzee, De Ligt, and Mainoo. Here is the latest team news and injury update.
Manchester United aims to secure a second consecutive victory as they face Brighton in their inaugural away match of the new Premier League season on Saturday.

Joshua Zirkzee substituted Mason Mount after 60 minutes in a game that was tied 0-0. Zirkzee then scored a skilful goal in the 87th minute to secure the victory.

Zirkzee was given an extended summer rest after participating in Euro 2024. Erik ten Hag, before the start of the game, clarified that the forward was still in the process of recovering his full physical condition.
Given that Rasmus Hojlund is still unable to play, Zirkzee will be eager to have performed well enough to secure his position as the leader of United’s attack in the upcoming weekend.
Alejandro Garnacho, who has recently returned to Manchester, made appearances as a substitute in both the Community Shield match against Manchester City and the match against Fulham.
The performance of the Argentina international appeared to be lacking in pace and agility against the Cottagers, potentially resulting in Amad Diallo retaining his position in the team.
Due to Luke Shaw’s ongoing absence, Diogo Dalot is anticipated to persist as the left-back, while Noussair Mazraoui has made an impressive start on the right side.
Harry Maguire, on the other hand, left the game with an injury that evening. Although Ten Hag later clarified that his substitution was a precautionary move, this might potentially create an opportunity for Matthijs de Ligt to make his first complete appearance against Brighton.

Manchester United Formation: 4-2-3-1
Manchester United The expected starting lineup to face Brighton consists of Onana, Mazraoui, De Ligt, Martinez, Dalot, Casemiro, Mainoo, Amad, Fernandes, Rashford, and Zirkzee.
The match between Brighton and Manchester United will commence at 12:30pm on Saturday, 24th.
