What Erik ten Hag said to Jadon Sancho in ‘clear the air’ meeting finally revealed- Fans will be shocked
A new report details the heated conversations that took place during the September “clear the air” meeting between Jadon Sancho and Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.
On Thursday, Sancho signed a loan agreement with Borussia Dortmund that will last through the end of the current campaign.
The England winger, who hasn’t played for United since August due to a public disagreement with Ten Hag over training sessions following September’s 3-1 loss to Arsenal, is making his way back to Germany.
Since the “clear the air” discussions with Ten Hag broke down, Sancho has not trained with the first team and has not been considered for matchday squads, even when other players in his position are available.
Although Ten Hag did say in December that Sancho’s return to the first team was still possible, he has declined to publicly address the matter or the content of their exchanges.
That won’t be happening, at least not for the foreseeable future. The Athletic has now revealed the specifics of the “clear the air” meeting that was scheduled for the international break following the loss to Arsenal.
According to the report, Sancho, who is 23 years old, was first given permission to take a leave of absence during the international break while he was still with England on international duty.
When he returned, the meeting was held at Carrington.
Ten Hag allegedly showed Sancho footage from the last practice before United’s match against Arsenal, which featured a practice match between United’s starting lineup and a reserve lineup that attempted to mimic the Gunners’ style of play.

The player himself disagreed with the report’s addition that the Dutchman was “unhappy” with Sancho’s application and pressing during that session.
Following the scheduled scheduling of additional talks, it is alleged that United demanded that the winger retract his social media post disputing Ten Hag’s remarks at the press conference about his allegedly subpar training performances and issue a public apology to the manager.
Sancho did not apologize, though, and even though he removed the social media post, he was not included in another squad until this week, when he left for Dortmund.
At this point, it would seem improbable that the 23-year-old will play for United under Ten Hag once more.
