‘The comeback is coming’ – Reece James ready for Chelsea return
James has only made nine appearances this season owing to a hamstring injury he acquired in the first game of the campaign in December. However, he asserts that he will return to playing for the Blues and for England soon.
He wrote on Instagram, “The setbacks I faced might have been overwhelming for you, but the comeback is on its way.” He shared pictures of himself with his teammates and of his recuperation.
James has not experienced an injury-free season since the 2020–21 campaign, during which he played in 32 Premier League matches. Since the start of the 2021–22 campaign, he has been absent for 74 first-team matches.
Chelsea will play against Brentford this weekend. The team saw contrasting results in cup competitions, losing the Carabao Cup final to Liverpool but defeating Leeds United to get to the FA Cup quarter-finals.
