Graeme Souness has cautioned Raheem Sterling that he would not be able to secure a purchaser within the Premier League, and as a result, Chelsea may be compelled to offload him to Saudi Arabia.

Enzo Maresca has banished Sterling.
Chelsea is actively seeking potential purchasers.
Souness also criticised the club’s commercial model.
The winger’s position at Chelsea has become uncertain following the exclusion of Sterling from the squad for their Premier League opener against Manchester City by the new Chelsea head coach, Enzo Maresca. This exclusion clearly indicates that Sterling is not included in Maresca’s plans for the season. The English forward has been authorised to depart. Cobham and his representatives, in collaboration with the club, are actively seeking potential buyers before to the conclusion of the transfer window.
In the Three Up Front podcast with William Hill, Souness expressed his belief that Raheem Sterling’s future lies in Saudi Arabia. He will go there for two reasons, one of which being the substantial financial compensation he will receive. I believe no team in this country will be able to equal that. In my opinion, none of the prominent Premier League clubs would be interested in acquiring his services due to his exorbitant price demands.

Souness also censured Chelsea’s strategy in the transfer market, asserting that the club frequently overpays, resulting in negative impacts on their financial statement and hindering their compliance with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.

“The primary challenge for Chelsea with this business model is that when they intend to sell players, they have to incur a significant decrease in their value,” he stated. “They expended an amount close to £50 million to acquire Sterling, and they will receive an insignificant sum in return for him.” Subsequently, the purchasing team will request Chelsea to financially contribute to his salary.
Notwithstanding Souness’s pessimistic portrayal, Sterling has garnered attention from a Premier League club. Aston Villa is being considered as a possible option for the winger, as reports suggest that the club headquartered in Birmingham has extended an offer to acquire his services. In addition, Juventus has been associated with Sterling as they aim to enhance their team before the upcoming season, especially with Federico Chiesa on the brink of departing Turin.
Sterling is purportedly reluctant to approve a transfer to Saudi Arabia, as he aspires to rejuvenate his national team prospects with England. Nevertheless, as time is dwindling, the winger is facing increasing pressure to make a decision on his future.
