‘Nonsense’…Arsenal won’t be signing £62m player despite recent reports

It feels like a long time has passed since we discussed Chelsea acquiring Mykhaylo Mudryk ahead of Arsenal.

A deal for Mudryk seemed imminent for the Gunners until Chelsea intervened with a £62 million+ offer and an enticing contract to lure the Ukrainian to West London.

Mudryk has not been successful at all since coming to Stamford Bridge. Arsenal may pursue Mudryk again if an opportunity for a deal arises, as reports have indicated this week.

Journalist Dean Jones, writing for GiveMeSport, stated that the idea of Mudryk signing for Arsenal currently appears to be total ‘nonsense’.

Arsenal will not acquire Mykhaylo Mudryk.
Regarding the matter for GMS, Jones claimed that Arsenal would not benefit from attempting to make a trade since Chelsea is unlikely to sell at a low price.

Arsenal wanting to sign Mudryk now seems nonsensical. I cannot envision a scenario in which they would perceive significant value in that agreement. Unless Chelsea is willing to accept a significant financial loss, there doesn’t appear to be a logical reason for it. “I have heard negative feedback about Mudryk since he joined Chelsea, but I believe there are valid reasons for it,” Jones stated.

Although Mikel Arteta may believe he can develop Mudryk in a way that Chelsea has not been able to, now there is no justification for Arsenal to acquire him.

The Gunners may claim that they require further depth in the wide positions, and Mudryk offers that.

However, this guy has significantly underperformed since joining the Premier League and now does not enhance Arsenal’s starting lineup in any way.

Arsenal has superior alternatives available at the moment if they are looking to acquire a winger.

Chelsea appears to be committed to Mudryk for the foreseeable future.
