Mauricio Pochettino’s ‘respectful’ response to reports Chelsea could break another British transfer record

This week, Chelsea and Evan Ferguson were linked, and Mauricio Pochettino had to respond to the rumor.

Evan Ferguson of Brighton has been linked to Chelsea in recent weeks, but following their 1-0 victory over Fulham, manager Mauricio Pochettino says he is not aware of any interest in the forward or any striker.

The Blues and Brighton get along well because they recently spent a good amount of money on Marc Cucurella and Moises Caicedo. Graham Potter was also signed by them from the Seagulls following Thomas Tuchel’s dismissal.

Ferguson recently inked a new contract with Brighton, which is estimated to be worth £115 million. As a result, the west London team will need to set yet another British record in order to sign him.
