After reiterating his commitment to Manchester United, Marcus Rashford must now demonstrate it on the field. After Erik ten Hag fined him, Rashford finally spoke about his nightclub binge in Belfast.

After two nights of heavy drinking and missing training, the assailant confessed it was a poor decision. Because of the video evidence, there was no turning back.

Rashford further asserted that by raising his voice during the pandemic, he “rubbed people up the wrong way.” Most of the criticism has been directed at him because he consistently fails to deliver when he plays for his team.

Reestablishing his goal-scoring prowess would put his off-field transgressions in the past. Not exactly a 100% effort, with five goals in 32 games across all competitions.

Neither does aimlessly wandering the field while the other team has the ball. A video of Marcus Rashford pursuing Ross Barkley in his own half—I use the term “chasing” very loosely—and Barkley easily outrunning Rashford in the United goal went viral not long ago.

An iconic Premier League player, Alan Shearer, cast doubt on Marcus Rashford’s ‘body language’ this week.

If you want to put those naysayers to rest, you have to win games on the field. The whole country is rooting for Rashford to be successful, so no one is trying to bring him down.

The 26-year-old should hit his stride and enter the European Championships in blazing form; doing so would benefit everyone.

If the United forward were to reach his peak, it might be because Raheem Sterling, Phil Foden, and Jack Grealish would all want to start on the left wing for England at the European Championships.

Rashford has an opportunity to establish himself at a position where Gareth Southgate’s team is still uncertain. And tomorrow’s Manchester derby is the perfect opportunity to start demonstrating his dedication.

FA Cup draw

At Wednesday night’s FA Cup quarterfinal draw, just three teams were known to be in the competition.

Where was the joy in advancing past this tie so that we could all watch the draw and celebrate a big club victory together?

This ridiculous pre-show stuff is ruining it.
