Bruno Fernandes had an extremely instructive conversation with a Newport player while Manchester United was visiting for the FA Cup.

Newport County forward Will Evans revealed Bruno Fernandes’ true self following the team’s exciting FA Cup fourth-round matchup against Manchester United last month. The League Two team held their own in an exciting match at Rodney Parade, and Fernandes’s comment to Evans showed his class.

Bruno Fernandes opened the score after just seven minutes, putting Antony’s cutback into the net. After just six minutes, Kobbie Mainoo doubled the visitors’ lead with his first goal as a senior.

United wasted a plethora of chances, and Altay Bayindir was unable to step in before Bryn Morris gave Newport a glimmer of hope with an incredible long-range strike.

Just two minutes after the break, Evans created waves when he skillfully equalized for the home team by putting a square ball past Bayindir, raising hopes of a major upset in South Wales.

But that night, United’s superiority was evident as Rasmus Hojlund scored a clear goal in stoppage time and Antony scored his first goal of the season to secure a 4-2 victory and promotion.

Since then, Evans has discussed his encounters with some of the greatest football players, including Fernandes.

The 26-year-old also revealed a three-word comment the United captain made to him after he equalized, which sums up his humility to the nth degree.

Naturally, there are also some Liverpool fans on our team, Evans stated in a Goalposts TV podcast.

We’re expressing our eagerness to meet either Bruno or Antony, and everyone had the same impression of them both when they left the pitch.

Claiming to be the most genuine, but they’re just regular guys in real life. Bruno patted me on the back and said, “Nice finish, buddy,” as I was running back after scoring my goal.

In his post-match interview, he said of Bryn Morris’ goal, “the boy scored a brilliant strike [unbelievable shot] just before half-time.” You also think that his statement wasn’t necessary.

Evans also gave special recognition to Fernandes’ Portuguese teammate Diogo Dalot, naming him as the United player who impressed him the most during the game.

“I was most impressed by Dalot,” he remarked. He was standing in front of me when I looked up from watching a ball that had passed over my head and was likely chest height.

And while it was in the air, he just backheeled it back to the keeper. And I just thought, what? How much longer do I have?

He also moves swiftly. He has lightning-fast movement. I wasn’t surprised by it. As you mentioned, you’re not surprised that he was crazy about me.
