According to reports, Manchester United employees are allegedly being compelled to have their meals in a lavatory due to cost-saving measures implemented by Sir Jim Ratcliffe at Old Trafford.

Ratcliffe, the CEO of INEOS and the wealthiest individual in Britain, has acquired a 25 percent ownership share in the Red Devils following a successful agreement with the Glazer family, concluding a protracted investment dispute. One of his initial tasks was to carry out a comprehensive financial assessment.
The process resulted in 250 job cuts, and now the matchday experience is being closely examined. The Daily Mail says that agency staff no longer receive a free lunchbox for their shift. Previously, the lunchbox included a sandwich, cereal bar, bag of chips, and a soft drink.
Allegations have been made that some individuals were presented with remnants of the cuisine provided to corporate attendees at United’s inaugural match of the 2024–25 Premier League season versus Fulham. The Red Devils refute this claim, stating that additional food was prepared specifically for the crew. The lunchboxes that were previously provided were frequently left untouched.
One employee has reported being compelled to dine in a lavatory area, where a dining table has allegedly been arranged adjacent to four toilet compartments. As you exit the cubicle, you encounter someone sitting directly in front of you, engaged in the act of eating. United maintains that there is a distinct dining room available, and some individuals opt to dine in a more peaceful staff area that is connected to a bathroom and shower room.
Additionally, it has been disclosed that supporters occupying private boxes are only receiving five matchday programmes for a group of ten. A guest expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of a programme provided, considering the high cost paid, and deemed it quite stingy. United asserts that anyone who requests a programme will receive one, following the discovery of numerous programmes in dumpsters following games.
Ratcliffe’s focus will extend to private chauffeurs and company credit cards, as well as addressing the issue of staff having to cover their own expenses for the 2024 FA Cup final. This means that perks like pre-match parties, post-match lunches, and hotel accommodations have been completely eliminated.
