Man Utd can make statement by signing £43m RB Leipzig striker who is more talented than Mathys Tel
Manchester United are expected to actively seek a young striker to provide backup for Rasmus Hojlund during the upcoming summer transfer window. In recent weeks, there have been reports linking them to Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel.
According to reports, there was previously communication with his group, but it seems futile now as the teenager has agreed to a new long-term contract with the German champions.
United may consider pursuing an alternate target, specifically Sesko, who has recently shown promising progress in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig.
Despite being a prime choice for Manchester United when playing for Red Bull Salzburg, the Slovenian player declined their offers and instead opted to join Leipzig, a sibling club known for playing a similar style of game.
Sesko initially began the campaign as a substitute, but he has since become a regular and dependable starter for Leipzig. He has scored 11 goals in only 1,359 minutes in his first season.
He has scored a goal every 123 minutes on average and has scored in four out of his last five league outings.
By comparison, Tel has maintained a consistent average of minutes per goal for Bayern. The 18-year-old has scored seven goals in 862 minutes for Bayern under the management of Thomas Tuchel.
Nevertheless, Sesko exhibits a higher level of talent than Tel at their current stage of professional development. The 20-year-old possesses an exceptional ability to convert shots into goals, with a conversion rate of 25 percent in the Bundesliga this season.
In contrast, Tel has achieved a conversion rate of only 14 percent for his shots into goals. Sesko possesses more aerial prowess within the penalty area compared to Tel. He has scored four goals with his head, while the other person has only scored one.
Sesko’s contract currently includes a release clause of €50 million (£43 million), which is considered to be quite cheap. In our opinion, United may assert their position by actively seeking to acquire his services before their Premier League competitors, Arsenal and Chelsea.
