Man Utd blow as Liverpool move ahead to sign £51.6million star – Report

Since the summer of last year, Manchester United has been pursuing Jean-Clair Todibo; however, according to recent reports, Liverpool is in front of them in their pursuit of the French center back.

A story published by Nice-Matin today (see the press photo below) claims that Nice has placed a high price tag on their prized asset and does not want to sell him during the current transfer window.

Read: Man Utd is informed that a “sensational offer” will result in the signing of an English midfielder this month.

It is reported that the French team is seeking a price of £51.6 million to sell the defender during the January transfer window in order to fend off teams like Liverpool, United, NUFC, Spurs, and PSG.

They anticipate that if the player does well at the summer’s European Championships, he will stay and gain more value.

According to the media source, Liverpool has signed Todibo before Manchester United.

Nice’s owner, Jim Ratcliffe, recently acquired a share in Manchester United. The Old Trafford team depends on Jim and Dave Brailsford, Director of Sports at Ineos, to entice the 24-year-old.

Nonetheless, because they currently top the Premier League table, have a historic stadium, and a “emblematic” manager, it is said that Liverpool is very attractive.

More significantly, Nice-Matin assert that Todibo and Anfield center back Konate are close friends, suggesting that the Merseysiders may consider replacing the seasoned captain, Van Dijk, with the Ligue 1 player.

Liverpool was in the Europa League and United was in the Champions League at the beginning of the season.

We are currently outside of Europe and in the lower half of the Premier League standings, while our bitter rivals are dominating every competition.

It is therefore not unexpected that they have advanced in the competition to sign Jean-Clair Todibo.
