Man United Chiefs hold ‘intense discussions’ about transfer swoop to sign £30m sensational Dortmund forward
Man United executives have “intense discussions” regarding their move to sign the incredible £30 million Dortmund forward.
According to Football Transfers, Manchester United is reportedly considering a move to sign Donyell Malen, a star for Borussia Dortmund, this month.
Erik ten Hag appears ready to add players to the team during the winter transfer window in an attempt to improve United’s performance in the second half of the season, given that the Red Devils have had a dismal start to the campaign.
The Dutch manager is supposedly trying to improve defense, but he also seems to be interested in giving Ten Hag more weapons for the front line.
Timo Werner is one of the offensive options that have been suggested as possible targets for Manchester United. The German is currently close to signing a contract with Tottenham Hotspur, though.
The Red Devils have chosen to turn their attention to other targets after missing out on Werner, with Malen now appearing to be a viable contender.
Malen to Manchester United
Borussia Dortmund may be willing to let the Dutchman leave the team, according to reports, which would allow Manchester United to sign the forward should they formally express interest.
Football Transfers reports that Man Utd officials have held “intense discussions” about signing the forward in-house after designating Malen as a top target.
According to the report, Man Utd is interested in signing Malen on a temporary contract, with the possibility of a permanent move at the conclusion of the current season. But according to Football Transfers, Dortmund would prefer to sign the former PSV Eindhoven player permanently in January as opposed to just on loan.
Malen, who Transfermarkt values at approximately £30 million, is a versatile player who can play all over the front line. He can create opportunities for other attackers, finishes chances efficiently, is quick, technically sound, and puts in a lot of effort even when he is not in possession.
If Malen signs a loan deal with Manchester United this month, he would be a useful option to have between now and the end of the season. It will be intriguing to observe, though, if the all-time Premier League winners ultimately decide to take a more serious stance in their pursuit of signing Malen to bolster their front line.
