‘Look who’s back!’ – Man United tipped to re-sign free agent David de Gea when Andre Onana is away on AFCON duty with Cameroon as he drops major return hint

“Look who’s back!” David de Gea, a free agent, is expected to sign with Manchester United again while Andre Onana is away representing Cameroon in the AFCON.
Dwight Yorke says it would be “really smart” for Manchester United to re-sign David de Gea, even though questions about Andre Onana are still present.
Consequently, what happened?
Before a £48 million ($61 million) deal was completed with Inter, former Red Devils striker Yorke was among those cautioning Erik ten Hag and colleagues against taking a chance on a transfer on Cameroon international Onana.
United had been warned to expect “mistakes” when he arrived in England, and that had been the case during his early years at Old Trafford.
After being released into the free agent pool, Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea, who made history during his 12 years with United by shattering their all-time clean sheet record and winning four Player of the Year awards, is still available.
The 33-year-old has not yet decided what to do with his future, despite being linked to MLS and Saudi Arabian teams.
YORKE’S MENTION OF DE GEA
When asked if United would make a “look who’s back” announcement while Onana is away for the Africa Cup of Nations, Yorke, speaking on behalf of Footy Accumulators, responded as follows to GOAL:
“I believe that David de Gea would be a really wise choice to resign. However, I doubt it will occur because it would only serve to inflame the manager’s pain for having let him go. What purpose does the club have for having a number two, I wonder?
They succeeded with Dean Henderson, and the club has a number two for a reason. You have to give these guys a chance to earn your trust.
They train daily in an attempt to become elite, starting goalkeepers, so I’m not sure why they let Dean Henderson leave. From the outside, it may seem like my opinion, but you never know until you give these kids a chance at life.
What would you do if you got hurt during the game and didn’t want to wear the number two? Altay Bayindir, their current keeper, is always the substitute and never gets a chance.
I don’t understand this, so it’s as if he didn’t exist! It defies logic, and I find it hard to understand how the manager could possibly think in that manner.
