Stelling claims he knows he’d get a “battering” from Reds fans because of his choice, while McCoist and Stelling disagreed on whether Mohamed Salah would be in a combined XI for Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal.

The ‘Premier League Title Race XI’ that Stelling and McCoist were working on had a disagreement regarding the right attacker—Salah or Bukayo Saka. With two points more than Manchester City and one more than Arsenal, the 31-year-old Egyptian has led Liverpool in Premier League goals and assists.

Meanwhile, in North London, Saka is attempting to lead Arsenal to their first Premier League title since 2003. He has only scored 13 goals and assisted on 10 more than the Egyptian in 27 league games.

Jorg Schmadkte opens up about Klopp and Liverpool’s departure, admitting that the transfer of Dominik Szoboszlai was a mistake.

Even though Liverpool fans would be the first to disagree, talkSPORT host Stelling maintains that he would prefer Saka to Salah for his team. That idea, however, was rejected by McCoist, who had a brilliant career with Rangers.

The fact that you’re not playing Salah is incredible, McCoist exclaimed. “I’m playing Salah on the right, (Erling) Haaland through the middle and (Phil) Foden, in current form, he might be the best player in the country.”

“Haaland and Foden are obvious,” Stelling responded. I’ve decided to go with Saka instead of Salah because Saka has been absolutely amazing. The numbers don’t really show much of a difference between them.

I’ve chosen the vivacity of youth. Age is an advantage for Saka, which is why I’ve chosen him over Salah. However, I am prepared to be pounded by the Liverpool faithful.

After returning from a hamstring injury that limited his participation in Egypt’s recent Africa Cup of Nations finals, Salah has missed Liverpool’s past four games, including their League Cup final victory over Chelsea last month. But Sunday’s Premier League match between Liverpool and Manchester City at Anfield might be his return from injury.

Rodri, De Bruyne, Rice; Ederson, Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Saliva, Robertson; Saka, Haaland, Foden

Salah, Haaland, and Foden complete the starting eleven for McCoist’s squad. Subs: Dias, Alisson, Walker, Van Dijk, and Rodri. De Bruyne and Rice finish the lineup.
