I fear he won’t advance much in his career if this keeps up. His attitude on the pitch yesterday bothers me.The Legend of Manchester United Paul Scholes lashes out For being overly “desperate” and “annoying” against Brighton yesterday, a Man United star Not Bruno Fernandez, not Rashford

Joao Pedro’s goal in the 95th minute sent Manchester United into a late defeat at Brighton.

Last week, the Red Devils began their season against Fulham with a late victory, but this week, the Seagulls surprised everyone by winning late.

Danny Welbeck, a former Manchester United player, had given Brighton the lead, but Amad Diallo’s strike erased it.

Alejandro Garnacho believed he had given Man United the lead, but the video assistant review (VAR) disallowed his goal because Joshua Zirkzee, a striker, was in an offside position when the ball hit him.

Surprisingly, Joao Pedro was unmarked in the box late in the game, and he took advantage of the simple opportunity to score past Andre Onana.

After the game, Erik ten Hag was clearly furious and he criticised three players for not stopping the cross that entered the box and resulted in the goal.

As reported by the Daily Mail, he stated in his post-match interview:

We must acquire knowledge.

“If you defend the goal like we do and then give up points, it is really needless.”

That instant was full of so much. In these situations, we need to communicate and agree on what to do. As a team, we guard our objective and each person is aware of their role.

“The cross (from Simon Adingra) was not stopped by us.” Three right-footed players had the opportunity to send him down the line and stop the cross.

We need to discuss as a team how we handle that circumstance. On that particular instance, there were multiple mistakes, which significantly affected the final score.

“As a team, we need to play better because we gave up two soft goals.”

It appeared as though Man United had not learnt from their previous campaign, therefore the manager has some work ahead of him to strengthen his team’s defence.

It seems like they are continuing to give up foolish goals, as they did during the previous season.

For stability, Man United needs to make changes at the back.
Matthijs de Ligt, who has entered the game as a substitute in the first two, might be ready to start.

While several players were involved in the second goal, Harry Maguire should have been more attentive of the first one.

Ten Hag and Man United’s poor defensive performance so early in the season is concerning.
