I MADE THE WRONG DECISION SIGNING FOR BAYERN MUNICH, I SHOULD HAVE GONE TO UNITED-harry kane speaks
Manchester United had been interested in signing the ex-Tottenham forward before the 2023 summer transfer season. Spurs declined to engage in negotiations with a domestic competitor, but Bayern was willing to provide a substantial amount of money.
Kane has excelled in Germany by surpassing the 30-goal mark, but Bayern is facing criticism as they are at risk of having their first season without winning any trophies since 2012. Dietmar Hamann believes that, despite questions about Kane’s decision and concerns about a quick return to England, the long-term advantages of playing at the Allianz Arena will prevail.
Hamann’s comments on Kane
The ex-Bayern midfielder, who played for Newcastle and Liverpool, shared his opinion with BoyleSports, a provider of current Premier League odds. He mentioned that Kane was considering Munich over Manchester United, emphasizing the former’s status as a significant club. He likely has another two or three productive years, although in one’s mid-30s, it gets challenging for forwards to score goals due to a decline in pace and increased difficulty. If he had joined Manchester United, what is the likelihood of his winning the league there? I believe the likelihood is really low. United winning the league within the next three seasons seems unlikely to me. Kane decided to travel abroad, which is usually beneficial for expanding one’s horizons and acquiring a new language. There are arguments both in favor and against, but it’s unfortunate that he may not win a trophy in his first season, which was his primary motivation for joining.
Kane is still competing for Champions League success this season, but Bayern needs to reverse a 1-0 first-leg disadvantage against Lazio to advance to the quarterfinals. Bayer Leverkusen has taken a commanding 10-point lead in the Bundesliga, making it unlikely for any other team to catch up and win the title.
