“I believe we’re better than Man City, we just have to improve in that position and I believe the new signing will solve that for us”: Erik ten Hag says incoming 20-years old Man United’s new signing will give the team what they’re lacking as the Club already confirmed the Star has signed 6-years deal today

Manchester United’s Erik ten Hag has urged his players to become more match-ready.

Just two weeks after giving up an 89th-minute goal to force their Community Shield match against Manchester City to penalties, where Pep Guardiola’s team won 7-6 to win the trophy, the Red Devils lost 2-1 away at Brighton on Saturday due to a goal in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time.

According to Squawka, United has actually lost more Premier League games than any other team when goals are scored in the 90th minute or later (6) since the beginning of the 2022–2023 season.

Ten Hag says Man Utd needs to “improve” their terrible late goal habit.
Without a question, United has a lot to offer, especially with players like Alejandro Garnacho and Joshua Zirkzee serving as the cornerstone of a thrilling offence.

But Ten Hag’s team’s skill will be very limited if he can’t control their habit of shutting down at the conclusion of games, which could cost him his job.

Ten Hag is diligently working on a remedy after realising the issue.

Ten Hag stated in reports after Brighton’s loss that “we have good potential but we have to keep going until the end because where we concede, in the Community Shield [against Manchester City], almost in stoppage time” (via the Manchester United website).

We now give up a goal in stoppage time, and you have to play through to the very finish.

“What we didn’t do well was when the referee whistled three times to signal the end of the game. Game management is something we ought to work on.
