“He’s the biggest signing of our history…Man United will regret selling him to us”: Club manager very excited after signing World-Class Man United player

Christian Eriksen, a midfielder for Manchester United, is regarded by Bees manager Thomas Frank as “the biggest signing” in Brentford’s recent history.

During Euro 2020, the Danish midfield player experienced an on-field cardiac arrest. He had an implanted cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) device during his treatment. Due to Serie A rules governing such devices, he was forced to leave Inter and, in January 2022, decided to move to England with Brentford.

THOUGHS OF THOMAS FRANK

Frank has a great deal of respect for Eriksen because the two became close friends while playing together for the Denmark Under-17 national team. During an appearance on “Moments That Made Me,” Frank described how he convinced the player to join Brentford by rekindling their connection.

Frank referred to Eriksen as “probably the biggest signing in the modern Brentford history.” “I have a personal relationship with him; I coached the Denmark U17 national team for a year when he was 15 or 16 years old.

Another amusing anecdote is when my son called me in October and suggested that I call him. I replied, “Yeah, maybe you’re right.” He hadn’t made his intentions known at that point, but he later declared, I believe in early December, that he wanted to pick up football again. My son then gave me another call and said, “Dad, it’s now.” Alright.

“When you see a player who I coached when he was sixteen, follow him, strike up a conversation with him, and watch him play for the national team, and then 14 years later, at the age of 30, walk in the door.” seasoned, self-assured, modest, and a leader in his own right. It was a really positive experience.

Eriksen will then be moving to Manchester United in the summer of 2022. But under Erik ten Hag, the 32-year-old has found it difficult to secure a starting position and is far down the Old Trafford hierarchy compared to the first-choice players.

However, Frank stated that Brentford would always welcome Eriksen back if he feels the need to switch bases in order to obtain consistent playing time.

“Christian, he is always welcome to return. I believe he’s aware of it. And we are aware that he enjoyed himself here,” he earlier in February told the Danish daily Tipsbladet.

“I have stated publicly that I have a clear understanding of why he chose to join United back then. I also believe he did a good job. Naturally, he was injured for a while prior to Christmas. However, Christian is more than welcome to do so.

Frank’s words highlight the manager’s unwavering regard and admiration for Eriksen. It’s unclear if the Danish player, who has a deal with United through 2025, will return to the Gtech Community Stadium in the summer to meet up with his childhood coach.
