“He’s not part of today plan” – Mauricio Pochettino confirms £60m Chelsea player will miss today game with new injury
Mauricio Pochettino says the £60 million Chelsea player will miss today’s match due to a new injury. “He’s not part of today plan.”
Carney Chukwuemeka, a midfielder for Chelsea, is doubtful for Saturday’s trip to Manchester City.
Today, Blues coach Mauricio Pochettino confirmed that.
Carney Chukwuemeka missed several months of action due to a knee injury, and he has only participated in seven games this season across all competitions.
The 20-year-old has returned to action in recent weeks, playing a few minutes off the bench.
Sadly, he has now sustained yet another blow to his injuries.
Chukwuemeka will miss tomorrow’s match at Etihad Stadium due to an ankle injury he suffered during training earlier this week, Pochettino has confirmed.
The £20 million star’s (Sky Sports) return date is not specified, but based only on the manager’s remarks, we’re assuming it’s nothing serious.
Two days ago, Carney Chukwuemeka twisted his ankle. According to the club’s official YouTube account, Pochettino stated, “He suffered a twist in his ankle and he is out.”
Carney Chukwuemeka is not well.
For a Chelsea youth about whom we are extremely excited going forward, it’s another heartbreaking setback.
Before suffering an injury setback, Chukwuemeka started the first two league games under Pochettino, demonstrating his clear regard for the player.
Conor Gallagher and Enzo Fernandez may be obstructing the box-to-box midfielder’s path into the starting lineup at the moment, but let’s hope he recovers quickly from his injury so he can fight for a spot.
Speaking through Premier League Productions on August 20, 2023, Marcel Desailly extolled Chukwuemeka’s qualities and referred to him as a “artist”.
All we can hope for is that he doesn’t end up like another Chelsea player whose career is cut short by injuries.
