Arsenal has struggled during the holiday season and has lost their last four games.

After dropping their last three games (against West Ham United, Fulham, and Liverpool), Mikel Arteta’s team is now fourth in the Premier League standings.

Arsenal’s current form is by no means disastrous—they are currently only five points behind league leaders Liverpool—but it has highlighted some weaknesses in their squad.

With Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Gabriel Jesus all showing declines in goal scoring this season, the lack of attacking power is evident to all.

Saka scored a goal every 228 minutes, Martinelli every 187 minutes, and Jesus every 189 minutes in the Premier League last season.

In contrast, Saka is only scoring once every 278 minutes this year, Martinelli only scores once every 649 minutes, and Jesus scores once every 313 minutes.

Considering that Jesus has only scored three Premier League goals this season, the pursuit of Ivan Toney makes perfect sense. However, FootballTransfers has been informed that the Gunners will not meet Brentford’s €116 million (£100 million) asking price, which could put an end to any hopes of a January transfer.

A significant concern at full-back, along with another in central midfield given Thomas Partey’s injury struggles, is Declan Rice’s over-reliance.

Benjamin White doesn’t appear to be as good as he did the previous season, and the left-back situation is concerning.

Jakub Kiwior doesn’t seem to be at ease there, Oleksandr Zinchenko has been exposed defensively multiple times, Kieran Tierney is on loan at Real Sociedad, and Jurrien Timber is injured.

Gunners require a new left-back.

Arsenal have a left-back in Zinchenko who is suitable for the reverse position. Kiwior gives Arsenal a more defensive left-back, which might open up space for White or a new right-back addition to move into attacking zones.

What they are lacking is a left-back who can play both excellent wide defense and more overlap; ideally, a player who can do both. Antonee Robinson of Fulham might hold the key to solving that issue.

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has previously expressed admiration for the American international who has performed admirably for the Cottagers this season.

experts in data analytics Robinson would be best suited at West Ham under David Moyes, according to SciSports, but the Hammers already have Emerson Palmieri in that role, and the Italian has performed admirably thus far this season.

Manchester United and Arsenal trail West Ham. The USMNT star might quickly fall to third choice at Old Trafford as Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are both expected to return to full fitness, even though Erik ten Hag’s team may still look to sign Robinson despite their left-back injury crisis.

But at Arsenal, he would give Arteta a profile that the Gunners are desperate to have.

Adding a natural left-back (instead of Kiwior) could allow Zinchenko, who isn’t playing as well as he did last year, to alter his tactical plan based on the opposition Arsenal is up against.

Although Robinson lacks Zinchenko’s ability to tuck inside, he is still a fantastic active defender with a strong engine.

Robinson is the second-most valuable American player in the world (after Christian Pulisic) with an estimated transfer value (ETV) of €32.3 million, and he appears ready for a promotion.
