A few Newcastle players may decide to try their luck elsewhere if the team is unable to qualify for the Champions League or win a trophy this season.

Although Eddie Howe’s team is playing exceptionally well this season and the Magpies are entertaining to watch, the former Bournemouth manager is learning that pretty football doesn’t always translate into victories.

With the exception of an FA Cup victory in 2020, Arsenal hasn’t exactly been filling the trophy cabinet with silverware either, but Mikel Arteta seems to be progressing at the team faster than Howe is with Newcastle.

Therefore, the Gunners would be a tempting offer to any Magpies players—one of whom is reportedly being linked to the north London team once more.

Arsenal isn’t actively seeking a January deal for Alexander Isak, but they are still impressed by the Swede and are searching for a top-tier striker for the summer, according to Football Transfers.

Moreover, Isak and Martin Odegaard were teammates at Real Sociedad, so there shouldn’t be any trouble adjusting. Moreover, Isak already knows how Arsenal’s captain likes to play, which could be a big advantage.

It is entirely unclear if Newcastle would be open to selling.
