Manchester United will be missing eight key players for Sunday’s derby against Manchester City.
Bruno Fernandes, Raphael Varane, and Casemiro were uncertain for Wednesday’s close 1-0 victory against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup, but Erik ten Hag anticipates that they will all play against the Premier League champions.
Harry Maguire, Rasmus Hojlund, Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, Mason Mount, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will all be out for United’s most challenging match of the season.
Ten Hag informed reporters that Varane and Fernandes competed to participate in the match against Forest and performed well. I believe they will be accessible by Sunday. I believe that players will not come back on Sunday.
Ten Hag is left with little choice in both defense and midfield. Sofyan Amrabat played as a left-back, while Victor Lindelof was positioned as a centre-back. Jonny Evans may join.
