FINALLY: Erik ten Hag confirms another double Man Utd injury blow with key players facing weeks out

Despite the numerous injury concerns that Manchester United has faced this season, Erik ten Hag does not believe that a crucial duo will be playing for the Red Devils anytime soon.
With Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro still sidelined for “weeks,” Erik ten Hag has taken yet another hit.
For the previous few months, the two have been confined to the sidelines. Martinez sustained a foot injury in September, which prevented him from playing. Due to a hamstring injury, Brazilian midfielder Casemiro has missed the last 12 Premier League games. Since the two have resumed their training, supporters are optimistic that they will be named in a matchday lineup as soon as possible.
Ten Hag has, however, moderated expectations by stating that they might not return to competitive action for a few weeks. On Monday, Man United plays Wigan in the FA Cup.
“They are a long time already back on the grass and now they return back into team training, but not fully, so partial,” the Dutchman said during a press conference. They must now take the next action, which could take a few days or perhaps weeks.”
He thinks Martinez and Casemiro will make a significant contribution when they return, even though he does not anticipate being able to call on them anytime soon.
“Two class players and they will bring the team forward,” Ten Hag continued. We are excited for their return to the team on matchdays now that we are aware of that.

However, we must wait for that. It will take some time for them to fully recover, but it is encouraging that they are back practicing as a team and on the field. They can work with us after we take the next action to fully include them in the team training.
In the FA Cup third-round matchup with Wigan on Monday, neither Martinez nor Casemiro will be in action. Rasmus Hojlund, a striker from Denmark, is one man who is still in the running.
The former Atalanta player could play at the DW Stadium again after missing the previous match due to illness. Regarding Hojlund’s fitness, Ten Hag declared: “He’s coming back.
“He was a little under the weather prior to the game [against Forest] because he had dropped out just before. He was supposed to play the day before, but he withdrew just in time for the match, though he has since returned to training.”
The Red Devils return to Premier League action the following weekend when they host Tottenham at Old Trafford, following their match against Wigan.
