Eddie Howe issues challenge to Newcastle players after admitting three major problems

Newcastle, under Eddie Howe, is having a difficult season in the Premier League. They are currently ninth in the standings, 11 points behind Arsenal, led by Mikel Arteta, in fourth place.
On Friday, Eddie Howe presented his Newcastle teammates with a challenge while outlining the precarious situation in which the Toon are currently situated.
In essence, Howe acknowledged that Newcastle lacks funds, players who can recover from injuries quickly, and friends who are willing to make loan arrangements. Not a chance? Tyneside never loses hope, even in the face of impending difficult decisions and a short-term nightmare.
Supporters think the wealthy Saudi owners will succeed in the end and are in it for the long run. Howe wants his players to show that they are among the best six for the time being. On Saturday, champions Manchester City will visit St. James’ Park; after that, they will travel to Aston Villa.
Howe acknowledged that he is unable to purchase a player in the same price range as Dominic Solanke of Bournemouth, who was connected to a transfer to the north earlier in the week. He repeated CEO Darren Eales’ statement that he cannot ensure that elite players won’t be sold.
Howe also disclosed that loan offers, which included a target in Kalvin Phillips of Manchester City, had stalled. According to Howe: “I’m not sure we have many friends in the market.”
However, Howe will not give up on pushing Newcastle forward, particularly after their slump before defeating Sunderland 3-0 last week, when he witnessed a rejuvenated and unwearied comeback to form. After his team’s much-needed victory, the Magpies manager was asked if it’s too soon to declare the Premier League’s top six to have expanded to a top seven.
“For us, it’s a longer-term vision,” Howe retorted. You cannot, in my opinion, unexpectedly place yourself in the top six. Every year, you have to demonstrate it. The accounts have shown us how far we still need to go in order to develop into the group that everyone desires.”
Newcastle brings in £250 million annually, while Manchester City earns £710 million. “There was this idea when the owners took over that we were the richest club in the world,” Howe continued. In actuality, though, that is unimportant and irrelevant when discussing FFP.

It is my responsibility to work tirelessly to advance the team. In the boardroom or through coaching. Making the team as good as I can is my main responsibility. I’ll keep doing that, then.
We want Newcastle United to be around for the next 500 years, so everyone’s top concern is the football club’s health, which I have to respect and understand. We have a long-term job and we want it in a really good location.”
Howe reacted to Newcastle officials publishing the club’s accounts on Thursday, which showed a £73m loss last year and them up against profit and sustainability rules (PSR). Howe commented on Solanke, saying: “It’s a frustrating story. We haven’t done any research. I signed Dominic because I think he’s great and I love him. We are unable to sign a player at that caliber.”

Howe was asked to guarantee that celebrities such as Sean Longstaff, Alexander Isak, and Bruno Guimaraes would not be sold. “I can’t give any assurance on that regardless of our FFP situation,” he retorted. In football, you can never predict what will happen.
All Premier League clubs are going to sell players. Man City has let go of a few excellent players. Of all the clubs, their income is the highest. For all of them, that is the terrain. In the summer, we reluctantly sold Allan Saint-Maximin.”
At the moment, Newcastle has no plans for this month. Howe will make an effort to take action because Joelinton is the most recent player to miss six weeks due to injury, and they would like to loan Phillips. However, Howe acknowledged that things are difficult and said, “I’m not sure there are many clubs out there that are willing to help us currently.” We are in that moment because in order to approve a loan agreement, the club must also approve it.
When directly questioned about selling a homegrown academy player who could relieve their PSR position with pure profit, Howe encouraged the local boy Longstaff. “It shouldn’t be that way, which makes the rules unfortunate,” he remarked. The players you develop and invest in shouldn’t be the ones you sell for a higher profit.

“This is where Sean’s future is long-term. I think I’ve shown that by selecting him in the majority of the games I’ve had the chance to. He is now an essential component of my midfield.
“Yeah, we adore him, as well as Lewy (Lewis Miley) and every student at our academy. They have a bond with the football team that only locals can understand. We really hope we don’t lose that.
Howe commented, “It’s not good, he will miss a minimum of six weeks,” about Joelinton. For us, it is a true blow. This season has been erratic for him. This is a major issue for him among his many problems.
Pep Guardiola was referred to by Howe as the “best manager in the world”. “City is the team to beat,” he continued. They have an amazing record. They have a knack for timing their runs, and in the second half of the season, they gain momentum and pose a formidable opponent. However, we are competitive.”
