REPORT: The top attacking midfielder in Europe for 23 years has joined Tottenham.

Spurs are not the only team interested in signing Ligue 1 midfielder Maxence Caqueret, despite recent rumors to the contrary.

Two European clubs are reportedly considering Maxence Caqueret. This information comes from FootMercato. Borussia Dortmund is from the Bundesliga, and Tottenham is one of the teams.

According to the report, the Premier League club might give priority to other targets for the time being. Either way, they might need to turn their attention to Caqueret.

There will undoubtedly be a lot of players identified to see who best fits Ange Postecoglou’s profile now that Spurs have a new manager.

Reportedly paid £49,000 a week, the 23-year-old would be a great addition to the North London team.

Caqueret is a central midfielder for France U21 who has made 19 appearances.

With 36 appearances in Ligue 1, he had an extremely successful season. In these contests, Caqueret recorded four goals and seven assists.

He was deemed “immense” and “one of the top pressers in Europe” by the scouting website Breaking the Lines in 2021.

The guy is a very good all-around midfielder who can attack and defend, so Spurs could gain an advantage by signing him.

They have to start over from scratch. It is not enough to finish ninth in the Premier League. They invest a lot of money and hope to be in the top four.

There will be a lot of pressure on Postecoglou to make sure the team doesn’t miss out on European qualification once more.

Without any European games, they will have a much better chance of placing higher in the league or even taking home a trophy the following season.
