Tottenham Expert: Following this week’s update on Fabrizio Romano, Bryan Gil ought to be sold

Tottenham News is delighted to welcome John Wenham of Lilywhite Rose as our exclusive columnist. He will provide his professional analysis on the most talked-about topics at Spurs every week.

Since Bryan Gil “is not going to make it at Tottenham,” John Wenham feels that Bryan Gil should be sold permanently as opposed to being sent out on loan.

Gil has struggled ever since arriving in the Premier League two and a half years ago and has spent most of his Spurs career out on loan in La Liga, first with Valencia and then his former side Sevilla.

Fabrizio Romano reported on January 9 via his personal X account that Fiorentina and Feyenoord are interested in signing the out-of-favor winger on loan for the January transfer window.

Bryan Gil is being pursued by both Feyenoord and Fiorentina on a loan from Tottenham, with a possible buyout clause to be discussed.

Feyenoord have added Bryan to their list, as called by @1908nl. Open race continues.

Wenham responded to this update by saying that the Spaniard should not make a temporary switch.

“Gil is an obvious one for me to leave the club,” Wenham stated in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News. But I fail to see the purpose of him taking out a second loan overseas.

“I don’t see how a loan move would increase his value and the likelihood that he moves on permanently, but that’s what some people have told me.

“He essentially went out on loan with Sevilla last year, helped them win the UEFA Europa League, and even though that didn’t result in a permanent transfer,” the player said.

“Unfortunately, it appears that he will not succeed at Tottenham. I believe that we have reached a turning point in the situation, and I believe that the club should sell him—even if the asking price is relatively low given the significant add-ons, which might be attractive to a Spanish team.

“He needs to go; I just don’t see him getting enough playing time, especially with Timo Werner being able to play in the exact same position as him and Manor Solomon returning from injury.”

Wenham called a recent addition to the Spurs team a “Fabio Paratici masterstroke.” This is not all the news surrounding Tottenham.

Tottenham’s main defensive objectives are known.

Summer priority for Tottenham Hotspur is a Premier League-tested center back, as reported by Ryan Taylor of Daily Express, who provided an update for GIVEMESPORT.

Spurs are searching for more players even though Ange Postecoglou has already added a number of notable players to his revamped team.

Details about the Tottenham Hotspur transfer

Ahead of the upcoming campaign, Tottenham’s camp is humming thanks to Postecoglou, who has brought much-needed energy to Hotspur Way.

James Maddison, a £40 million summer transfer from Leicester City, is Tottenham’s biggest acquisition to date.

Spurs are now £13 million closer to acquiring a professional center back.

After being a part of Leicester’s Championship relegation the previous season, Maddison is now looking to make an impression at Spurs in order to qualify for the European Championships the following summer.

Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, who joined the team last month for £17 million from Empoli, has also inked a contract with the 2008 League Cup winners.

Whereas Manor Solomon, who caught the eye during a spell with Fulham last season, joins Tottenham on a free transfer, having suspended his contract with Shakhtar Donetsk, following a controversial rule introduced by FIFA which impacts players playing for clubs in war-torn Ukraine.

Postecoglou wants to bring in even more players, and a central defender is the next item on the former Celtic manager’s shopping list. He has already brought in three new faces.

Journalist Taylor from the Daily Express acknowledged to GIVEMESPORT that Tottenham was looking to add a center back, and that Tosin Adarabioyo was one name that was highly on their shortlist.

Regarding the 25-year-old defender, Taylor stated: “Tosin, the Fulham center-back who was left out of the squad to face Brentford in Philadelphia, is attracting a lot of interest.”

He appears to be a player who fulfills the requirements for homegrown players, is well-liked by Spurs, and has just one year remaining on his contract, so it appears he can leave Fulham this summer. Therefore, I believe that Micky van de Ven and Adarabioyo will be given priority.

Taylor hinted that the Spurs are looking to add to their defensive options this summer by pursuing a low-cost deal for Adarabioyo.

The Evening Standard claims that the north Londoners plan to sign the former Manchester City player for a lower price in an effort to take advantage of Adarabioyo’s desire to leave Fulham.

Although the Manchester-born defender’s price is unknown, Transfermarkt values Adarabioyo at £13 million, suggesting Spurs won’t have to spend a fortune to acquire him this summer.

At the end of the season, Adarabioyo’s contract expires, and he has not indicated that he plans to stay at Craven Cottage. His weekly salary is estimated to be £40,000.
