Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are nearing an agreement to bring in Manuel Ugarte on a season-long loan, with the option to extend the stay.

The Manchester Evening News claims that additional negotiations with PSG have advanced and that a deal is now anticipated to close soon.

Scott McTominay won’t need to be sold this summer because of the loan arrangement rather than a direct permanent one, but the team is still accepting bids for Christian Eriksen and Casemiro, two older players.

Ugarte is rumoured to be eager to leave Old Trafford after struggling to find success in his debut season at PSG.

The French powerhouses are attempting to recover the majority of the £51 million they paid for the player last summer, and talks between the teams have been going on for a while. Now a settlement has been achieved.

The midfield player was a regular starter under head coach Luis Enrique at first, but as the season went on, reports of the player’s perceived lack of possession led to his benching.

Ugarte’s new assignment is to help young United star Kobbie Mainoo improve the midfield.
