Breaking News: Gareth Southgate handed Denmark a challenge, and opponents of England in the EURO 2024 group stage were confirmed.
News about the England national football team: the Three Lions’ opponents for the EURO 2024 group stage have been revealed.
Although England and manager Gareth Southgate are likely favorites to advance farther in the tournament than they did in EURO 2020, they must first get past the group stage of EURO 2024, where they will play some intriguing opponents.
The tournament kicks off on Friday, June 14 of next year, with the Three Lions drawn into Group C and facing Denmark, Slovenia, and Serbia. Serbia will be England’s first opponent on Sunday, June 16 at Gelsenkirchen’s Arena AufSchalke.
After that, on Thursday, June 20 at Waldstadion in Frankfurt, they will play Denmark in their second group stage match. On Tuesday, June 25, they will play Slovenia at RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne to wrap up the group stage.
Berlin will host the championship game on July 14th. Ten cities—Cologne, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich, and Stuttgart—are hosting finals matches.
Southgate asserted prior to the draw that his team needs to be ready for anything that could happen, whether they’re in the group stages or further into the competition. The England manager, in spite of his detractors, has guided his team to at least a quarter-final and semifinal in the World Cup, a final in the EUROs, and a semi-final in the Nations League. However, he has not brought home any silverware for the Three Lions, just like his predecessors over the previous 57 years.
Following England’s away match against North Macedonia in the final qualifier, he stated: “It appears that there are some very strong teams in Pot Two, and Pot Three also appears to have some very strong teams. Croatia was one of our opponents in the Euros.
