Erik ten Hag’s methods are causing concern among several Manchester United players as the pressure on the struggling Dutchman increases.

The running demands of Erik ten Hag have been met with disapproval from multiple Manchester United players.

With Ten Hag presiding over a lackluster campaign, Old Trafford has been abuzz with speculation about the Dutch manager’s long-term prospects. Since new club part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has not officially endorsed Ten Hag, his contract status is unclear.

Manchester United’s 3-1 loss to Ajax on Sunday was just the beginning of the scrutiny that fell on the former Ajax boss. United fell 11 points short of fourth-place Aston Villa at the weekend, putting them in a difficult position to qualify for next year’s Champions League.

Some United players believe that after a 2022–23 season with 62 games in total, the intensity of Ten Hag’s methods are too taxing, according to a new report from The Manchester Evening News. However, Ten Hag is currently dealing with other issues. It is also claimed that they think these demands contribute to the club’s long list of injuries.

United has had a concerning 47 cases of first-team players missing this season owing to injury or illness; many of these players were not present for Sunday’s derby. Rasmus Hojlund, Harry Maguire, and Luke Shaw were not present.

Even though he’s fighting for his Manchester United future, Ten Hag probably won’t be happy to see dissatisfaction in the locker room. Even though Ineos hasn’t officially decided on Ten Hag’s future with the club, word on the street is that he won’t be around after this season if Manchester United don’t qualify for the Champions League.

United legend Paul Scholes, however, believes that Ratcliffe and his team have already decided on Ten Hag and will replace the manager before next season.

During Sunday’s interview with Optus Sport, Scholes made it clear that the team that should be competing for the league is totally missing. It looks so far away in every season.

“I believe they [INEOS] have already made their mind up,” Scholes said when asked about his belief in Ten Hag’s continued leadership for the upcoming season. In my opinion, his presence next season is very unlikely. No.

The club seems to have been the target of negative headlines for the better part of a decade, at least according to the interviews we’ve conducted with Sir Jim. Given the current trajectory, I highly doubt he is content. If they are looking to hire a new manager, it would totally surprise me. In my opinion, it’s a poor decision.
