AS – Man Utd told initial £38.8m bid would be accepted for signing

Goncalo Inacio, a Portuguese international, has been strongly linked to Manchester United. According to recent reports, an intriguing deal may be reached to sign the defender from Sporting CP.

A few days ago, we reported on a story (via Record) that stated the Lions would only sell the 22-year-old star in January if the £51.6 million (60 million euro) release clause is fulfilled.

Reputable Spanish publication AS said yesterday (news image below) that Real Madrid and Manchester United are among the teams vying for Inacio’s signature.

Sporting would like the clause to be activated, but they have informed potential suitors that they are flexible, according to the Madrid-based news source.

Installments are acceptable for the 60 million clause.

It’s been reported that the giants of Primiera Liga would accept an initial bid of £38.8 million (45 million euros). It is possible to pay the remaining £12.8 million (15 million euros) in easily attainable goals.

Tyrell Malacia and Lisandro Martinez, who Erik ten Hag signed last year to bolster the defense, have been sidelined for the most of the current campaign.

Conversely, Maguire, Varane, and Lindelof, among others, have shown inconsistent play at center back.

Inacio is a talented player, and United needs a strong center half to bolster the department during the winter transfer window.

Do you think Man Utd should make a £38.8 million first bid to sign Goncalo Inacio next month?
