ANSWER”I’m smiling a lot!” Gakpo and Jones after defeating West Ham in the cup
Curtis Jones exclaimed, “It’s a big smile on my face,” following his two goals in Liverpool’s 5-1 Carabao Cup victory over West Ham United.
With a commanding performance at Anfield on Wednesday night, the Reds stormed into the competition’s semi-finals, where they will play Fulham over two legs.
The home team took the lead thanks to a long-range drive from Dominik Szoboszlai, and they added four more goals in the second half, including two composed finishes from Jones and one each from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah.
After the game, Jones said to Sky Sports, “I say a lot [that] I want to score goals, I want to help the team, that’s what I’ve got to do.”
“If you’re playing well all the time, that’s fine, but you need to start scoring goals.” I achieved two points there by doing that. I am therefore very happy.
“I just want to go play when the game is over,” I said at the time. I just want to go play in whatever competition—whether it’s the FA Cup, the Premier League, the Europa League, or the Carabao Cup.
“I try to support the guys and the team whenever I’m playing outside with a smile on my face. That’s what I carried out.
As a result of their frustrating Premier League draw with Manchester United the previous weekend, Jürgen Klopp’s team responded quickly.
Additionally, it guarantees that Liverpool will be competitive on four fronts in 2024, as they have already secured a spot in the Europa League final 16 and are set to begin their Emirates FA Cup campaign.
It’s obviously a crucial game to win. In the end, it was a good game, and we tried our best,” Gakpo remarked in the same post-game interview with Sky Sports.
“We have fantastic players and a strong team. All we need to do is continue to work diligently, remain united, and stay focused; eventually, the quality will show.

“We need to keep moving forward even though we are headed in the right direction.
It is never too soon to be on the correct path. To continue, we must remain composed and concentrated. That is the most crucial factor.
“The most important time is at the end of the season, which is almost halfway through, when the prizes will be divided.”
