Goalie Andre Onana of Manchester United is excited about this weekend’s derby matchup against Manchester City, as the Red Devils look to defeat their local rivals and win all three points.
Manchester United will “make it difficult” for Manchester City this weekend, according to Andre Onana.
Since moving from Inter Milan to United over the summer, Onana has played in two Manchester derbies, and the goalkeeper is looking forward to the match. After United’s FA Cup fifth round victory over Nottingham Forest, 1-0, Onana spoke, and he immediately focused on City.
“It’s a great feeling, especially the way we won today against a good opponent,” he stated. “We’re now concentrating on the upcoming games. Since we are Manchester United, we will be prepared for them because we all understand how crucial the game is to us, the team, and the city.
Although we’ll make it difficult for them, it won’t be simple. I have faith in my teammates; we’ll battle there and observe the outcome. We’re ready to play these kinds of games, which are really nice and exciting, without a doubt. 100% [I’m ready].
“We play against a very good elite team, and we’ll be prepared because we know who they are. To be in this dressing room is an indication of quality. This season, we’ve had a lot of injuries.
But such things do happen in life. We need to play like that every game, and my defenders were excellent today. We attack and defend as a team, so the clean sheet is very important to us, so I’m really happy for all of my guys.”
Erik ten Hag, the manager of United, stated that his team is eager to play City on Sunday. “We will prepare well, as we have done well against City and recently against Liverpool,” the Dutchman stated at his pre-game press conference.

“The players are excited and prepared for it. It smells to me. The players and I have been chatting around here, so we are all very excited and looking forward. The foundation is that of passion, desire, and determination, but when you enter the game on Sunday, that is unquestionably important.
“We’re having success. This is a great time, we’re all together. Together, we will create a solid game plan. Although they have a strong team, stronger teams exist. The problem is that we already know that they won the previous season.
“Yet there are other excellent teams, and Liverpool is one of the best.” We enjoy a challenge, and we’re excited to take on this one with them. We aim to win each and every game. We always approach every game with that mindset.”
