Chelsea 1-1 Newcastle United: On social media, Mykhailo Mudryk wrote a sophisticated note to Kieran Trippier.

As Kieran Trippier of Chelsea took advantage of a mistake made by the Newcastle United defender in the Carabao Cup quarterfinal at Stamford Bridge, Mykhailo Mudryk pleaded with the striker to’stay strong’.

Callum Wilson’s opening goal was nullified by Mudryk’s strike, forcing penalties. In the penalty shootout, the Ukrainian was one of Chelsea’s four successful penalty takers; however, Trippier was unable to atone for his error as he missed his penalty.

In the end, Newcastle was defeated 4–2 in the shootout, and Chelsea advanced to the semifinals.

Following the game, Mudryk sent the Newcastle right-back a supportive message on Instagram. The 21-year-old wrote, “Kieran, I just wanna say to you: stay strong.” “I think you are a strong football player, no matter what, but sometimes s—t happens.”

Since joining Newcastle in January 2022, Trippier has been one of the team’s best players. However, in recent games, the England international has committed a few individual errors that have resulted in goals.
