In their game against Brentford on January 1, Myles Lewis-Skelly will want to keep his spot.

The teenager has started all ninety minutes of Arsenal’s win over Ipswich on Friday and has started the last three Premier League games.

Riccardo Calafiori is one of six healthy players that Mikel Arteta can use at left back, but he may choose to stick with Lewis-Skelly because he is in such good shape.

The rest of the defense is set and shouldn’t change. Jurrien Timber has solidified his place as Arsenal’s right back while Ben White is out.

As a midfielder, Kai Havertz has played and scored in both of Arsenal’s last two games. However, Arteta may decide to switch things up for the trip to Brentford.

The Bees are a strong team, and they have a great home record. Because of this, Arteta might look for more stability in the middle of the field.

It’s certain that Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard will play, but Havertz might not be there. Instead, Thomas Partey or Mikel Merino might join them.

But the German will want to keep his spot, and he could be moved to the front instead of Gabriel Jesus.

This month, the Brazilian scored five goals in two games against Crystal Palace. However, he didn’t score in his home game against Ipswich.

If Saka isn’t there, Jesus could play out wide on the right, but Gabriel Martinelli started there the last time they played.

Arsenal’s likely starting eleven (4-3-3) was: Raya; Timber; Saliba; Gabriel; Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard; Partey; Rice; Martinelli; Havertz; Trossard; and Odegaard.

Saka (hamstring), Sterling (knee), Tomiyasu (knee), and White (knee) are all hurt.

From left to right: Havertz, Jorginho, Lewis-Skelly, Merino, Nwaneri, Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Calafiori, Gabriel, Heaven, Kiwior, Saliba, Tierney, Timber, Zinchenko; Jesus, Martinelli, and Trossard.
